Building Permit Processing Change

Building Permit Application Change Effective Immediately

A JULIE dig # must be provided on the application when it is submitted! The application will be forwarded to the Gas & Water Superintendent, who will verify that the proposed construction will not cover utilities. If satisfied, he will sign the application and return it to the Village Clerk, who will forward it to the Zoning Administrator. The Zoning Administrator will visit the construction address to verify proper setbacks and ordinances are being adhered to and will then return the completed approved (or disapproved) application to the Village Clerk, who will forward the executed document to the applicant. DIGGING MAY NOT BEGIN UNTIL THE APPLICANT RECEIVES APPROVAL!!

The application process has always allowed for 5-7 business days to complete. If you have called in a JULIE, but your project is planned for a future date and your JULIE happens to expire, you are still required to call in for a new JULIE for your own protection!

Dial 4-1-1 or 1-800-892-0123 CALL BEFORE YOU DIG!!
