Annual Clean-Up Days

VILLAGE OF WESTVILLE

Clean-up project June 09-10 follows Village-Wide Rummages June 3rd so people can also dispose of unsold, unwanted items!

 

Pickup for Senior and Disabled Citizens: Fri., June 09th

Drop-off for residents inside city limits: Sat., June 10th 7am-11:30am

 

For only $15 a pick up load and a separate, additional cost per appliance (call for pricing) you can rid your basement, garage, backyard, etc. of unwanted junk.  Open to seniors 60 years or older and adult disabled citizens.  Sign up dates are between May 1st and June 08th (noon).  Anything to be picked up must be in the front or alley of the residence no later than 6:30am on June 09th.   Please note on the form where the items for pickup will be located. ALL BRANCHES must be cut to 4’ lengths, BUNDLED and stacked neatly. Lumber must be stacked neatly and nails removed or pounded flat. PLACE SMALL ITEMS in boxes to make handling by our workers easier. If you have any questions about anything to be picked up, please call.

 

 

We will not pick up or accept dirt, hazardous materials, grass clippings, household garbage, or large amounts of construction materials, no tires and no roofing materials.  When you bring your items to the garage on Saturday, please plan to unload the items yourself; our men can help but are not expected to unload your truck for you. If you have any questions about anything to be picked up, please call.

Building Permit Processing Change

Building Permit Application Change Effective Immediately

A JULIE dig # must be provided on the application when it is submitted! The application will be forwarded to the Gas & Water Superintendent, who will verify that the proposed construction will not cover utilities. If satisfied, he will sign the application and return it to the Village Clerk, who will forward it to the Zoning Administrator. The Zoning Administrator will visit the construction address to verify proper setbacks and ordinances are being adhered to and will then return the completed approved (or disapproved) application to the Village Clerk, who will forward the executed document to the applicant. DIGGING MAY NOT BEGIN UNTIL THE APPLICANT RECEIVES APPROVAL!!

The application process has always allowed for 5-7 business days to complete. If you have called in a JULIE, but your project is planned for a future date and your JULIE happens to expire, you are still required to call in for a new JULIE for your own protection!

Dog Show Fund Raiser at VCDAR

OPEN HOUSE: 12-3pm, DOG SHOW 4-8pm
Come and support the Paw Brigade's fundraiser for the expansion and improvement of the VCDAR play yard, enjoy local vendors, bid on the many silent auction items, take part in children's activities and dog performances, while supporting a good cause. Proceeds from this fundraiser go directly towards the improvement of the dog play yard.

Please check in with the stage director ten minutes before the start of your category. Be sure to pay attention to the Dog Show, since categories typically run ahead of schedule.
RULES OF ENTRY: Handlers must be 18 years old or accompanied by parent/legal guardian. Proof of rabies vaccination and certificate is required at time of registration.
REGISTRATION:
Before May 7th - $10 per dog, 1-shirt included
After May 7th - $15 per dog, t-shirt NOT included

Village Rummage & Clean-Up Info

The Village-Wide Rummage will be Sat., June 3rd and the Cleanup Days will follow Fri., June 9th for Seniors/Handicap citizens and drop-offs for other citizens inside the Village limits will be Sat., June 10th from 7am-11:30pm. Deadline for residents inside Village limits to sign up to be on the rummage addresses list is noon on Thursday, June 1st and maps will be available at Latoz, IGA, Westville Public Library and Village Hall beginning Fri., June 2nd. Deadline for sign-up for residents inside Village limits for the clean-up pickup for Seniors/handicap is noon on Thurs., June 8th. The fee is still $15 per regular-size pickup truck load.
